Best Vintage Shops in Denver’s Antique Row

Boss Vintage

7 Best Vintage Shops in Denver Boss vintage

A peek at the denim at Boss Vintage

10 S Broadway
Denver, CO 80209

Expansive, yet orderly, Boss Vintage is the kind of store where a true vintage lover could get lost for hours. They have an enormous collection of denim and men’s vintage, but Betty Draper wannabes rejoice: the amount of 50s and 60s stock (and deadstock!) is a delight. They do sell a few decor and art pieces, but this is first and foremost a clothing shop. Boss is one of the pricier shops on this list, but with their decades of careful curation there’s almost nothing in the shop that isn’t worth the price. Fun fact: they sold what may have been the first pair of Levi’s EVER. As a bonus, the staff is engaging and helpful.

Goldmine Vintage

The Moulin-Rouge-meets-your-uncle’s-den atmosphere of Goldmine

227 N Broadway #122
Denver, CO 80203

IG: @goldminevintage

Goldmine’s stock is spread equally across the decades, perhaps leaning more heavily on the 80s and 90s than others on this list. One of the newer shops on the list, it’s nonetheless a heavy hitter. Goldmine also has a variety of amazing, non-vintage costume pieces (paillette speedo, anyone?) for when you need a quick, whimsical something for Tour de Fat. They also have a few beautiful pre-War garments for seriously tiny shoppers. Though the footprint is about the same size as Boss Vintage, the deep red walls and proliferation of velvet paintings lend it a more intimate atmosphere. The pricing is a little lower than Boss, with a range of prices for just about any budget, and the staff tends to be pretty hands off.

Sewn

The vintage pattern display at Sewn.

18 S Broadway
Denver, CO 80209

Literally 2 doors down from Boss Vintage, Sewn is like a very bright, meticulously curated antique mall. Featuring a mixture of home decor vendors, textile artists, and vintage clothing (both as-is and repurposed), Sewn packs a lot into a small space, but doesn’t feel crowded or overwhelming. What makes this little wonder even more unique? The back sewing room! They have dozens of vintage patterns from Butterick, Oscar de la Renta, and more, plus a gorgeous display of vintage sewing machines and textiles. The prices are stubbornly fair, and there is pretty much always a dog hanging around this bright and cheery shop.

Best Vintage Shops in Denver’s Lower Downtown

Garage Sale

The main lounge/bar area at Garage Sale.

1460 Larimer St.
Denver, CO 80202

Winning points for perhaps the best interior design of all the shops on this list: Garage Sale on gorgeous Larimer Square. This bustling area of downtown is one of the most popular destinations for tourists and locals alike, and Garage Sale lives up to the high standards of all that foot traffic. Stocked by an assortment of vendors, Garage Sale has some of the most unique inventory in the city. Prices are fair; expect to get a deal, but maybe not a steal. Bonus: Garage Sale is also a bar where you can get a mean margarita, and shop long after most stores close.

Even better: Garage Sale now has a location in Belmar, as well! 2x the margaritas and vintage.

Best Vintage Shops in Denver’s RiNo Neighborhood

Modern Nomad

2936 Larimer St
Denver, CO 80205
https://www.modernnomaddenver.com/
IG: @modernnomaddenver

Modern Nomad is more of a very upscale flea market than a true vintage shop, but there are lots of secondhand goodies to peruse! Art, jewelry, stationary, furniture, there are so many amazing things to find. In addition to their well-curated list of vendors, Modern Nomad will often sponsor clothing swaps and other sustainable shopping events. Modern Nomad is one of my favorite places to go for holiday presents. It’s especially great to find presents for people you like but don’t know super duper well (or want to impress with a unique and thoughtful gift.) Prices are high, but fair.

Best Vintage Shops in Denver’s Santa Fe Arts District

Strawberry Mountain

What did I say? Patrick Nagel!

825 Santa Fe Dr
Denver, CO 80204
https://www.strawberrymountainbst.com/
IG: @strawberry.mountain.bst

Leaning slightly more to consignment shop than vintage shop, this spot nevertheless has great timeless and vintage pieces thanks to the unique eye of its staff. With a distinctly Patrick Nagel bent, the shop is bright and graphic, and the pieces are, too. Smack dab in the middle of the Santa Fe Arts District, there are fewer shops around Strawberry Mountain than other entries in this list, but there are tons of amazing art galleries within walking distance (particularly by Latine and native artists). This is the least expensive shop on the list (I scored an adorable sundress for $13!) but it’s not bad quality by any means.

Best Vintage Shops Near Denver - Fort Collins

Wear it Again, Sam

140 S College Ave
Fort Collins, CO 80524

Okay, okay, so it’s technically not in Denver, but Wear it Again, Sam is a Colorado institution! Open for nearly 4 decades, this is perhaps the oldest shop on the list. After undergoing massive renovations during the pandemic, this small nook of a store has a brand new lease on life. You almost feel like you’re on the gown floor of B. Altman. In addition to the gorgeous dresses (much of the stock is curated towards the 50s and 60s), Wear It Again, Sam has a robust costume rental service with high-quality costumes of all sorts. The shop’s current proprietress, Kim Sewald’s, enthusiasm for vintage clothes is palpable. Her Bettie Page style and sunny personality only add to the Dreamsville atmosphere.

Because my personal style trends more towards midcentury I didn’t include some wonderful shops that trend more towards the 80s and 90s, like the Ten Penny Store, Big Sky Supply, Fifty-Two 80s, and Regal Vintage. But if you’re more Ferris Bueller than Don Draper, those are all great shops to check out!
